If you enjoyed Crowded House’s cracking set for Virgin Radio at the top of the tower recently, then the exciting news is that they are embarking on some UK tour dates later this year.

Yes, the multi-platinum band have announced that they will be visiting Manchester, Glasgow, London, Brighton, Bournemouth and Birmingham as part of their Gravity Stairs tour, before then continuing across Europe.

Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday 21st June.

Tour news follows the release of Crowded Houses’ acclaimed eighth studio album Gravity Stairs, which is their first release since 2021’s Dreamers Are Waiting.

The band are in the process of playing the remaining few dates of their current run of UK shows, which will include a turn at the Isle of Wight Festival and dates in Aldermaston, Halifax and Cardiff.

When Crowded House joined The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with webuyanycar earlier this month, they spoke all about their new album and played some tunes live, including their latest track, Teenage Summer.

Frontman Neil Finn told Chris that it was actually the next generation of Finns that helped name the single. “The title of Teenage Summer was formerly known as Life’s Imitation. It survived like that for quite a long time,” he said.

However, a five-year-old Finn family member was “enthusing” about the new track, and called it Teenage Summer, which became the official name that stuck. “The light went on,” Neil continued. “He's just identified the key moment of the song, and it's not the title. So I changed it for him, because the children must be heard!”

He added: “I thought it was a beautiful juxtaposition of the old fella looking back at teenage summer and the young fella looking forward.”

Proving that Crowded House are very much a family affair, Neil’s brother Tim is a former band member, and his sons Liam and Elroy are now in the group.

“It's great,” Liam said. “We have a group text that's just as silly as any band I've ever been in. It sort of defies any kind of generation and makes it unique.”

Crowded House played a stunning rendition of their 1993 classic Distant Sun for Virgin Radio.
