We've all wondered what our letter looks like inside a post box, haven't we?

Now one brilliant postal worker has shared the inner workings of the iconic red post boxes.

Wonder no more!

It seems like magic, to post your letter into the box and to have it arrive at the destination days later.

A Yorkshire-based postie has shared pictures of what the postboxes on his route actually look like.

He shared the pictures on Reddit’s r/CasualUK page.

The user, posting under the name @yorkshire_lad69, shared the inside of three post boxes.

He included a post box set into a stone wall too.

It seems many of us were surprised by what was revealed.

“No tiny people inside sorting the letters? How odd!” joked one.

“That's so cool, genuinely! I'd never realised they had different interiors,” said another.

“I just assumed it was a literal blank box, not with some fancy bag or metal tray inside them!”

“The last box is obviously in the process of becoming a Dalek,” laughed another.

If you love the pics, you're not alone: “I find this strangely fascinating" admitted one onlooker.

The postie's bundle of keys caught the eye of some: “That bunch of keys though. Phwoar!"

"Came here for this comment, one helluva set of keys!” agreed another.

Also on Reddit, people have been wondering why sinks are always placed under the window in the kitchen.

Elsewhere, this Reddit poster had people arguing about tea, and we do love a good debate about the proper way to brew.
