Fans of Stranger Things will never want it to finish, but all good things must come to an end according to one of the stars of the show.

David Harbour has long been a favourite of viewers, and he has starred in Stranger Things from the very beginning playing the role of Jim Hopper.

He told Discussing Film: “What’s funny is when I started the show, I never ever wanted it to end. That’s why I love the show. I think it’s a great show, even if I wasn’t in it.

“Now we’re almost nine years from filming the first season, and I think it is time for it to end.

“But it is, of course, very bittersweet. You know, there’s a sadness there, but also, we’ve all grown up.

“It is time for us to leave that nest and try other things and different projects and to let the Duffer Brothers (show’s creators) try different things as well.

“I mean, those guys are so talented. I want to see what they come up with next. So it is bittersweet, but it’s definitely time.”

He also reacted to co-star Noah Schnapp coming out as gay.

“I’m always happy for people that are true to themselves and come out. That was terrific.”

Schnapp’s character Will Byers is also gay, and he wrote: “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.”

Fans have been supporting the star since his revelation.

David is married to Lily Allen, and the couple recently defended their style choices including a bold carpet in their bathroom.
