The Children In Need excitement just ramped up another notch for Doctor Who fans. Tonight on the charity extravaganza, the new companion for Ncuti Gatwa is going to be revealed live. Yes, LIVE.

"Get ready to meet the new #DoctorWho companion tonight, exclusively on @BBCCiN in the UK," read the official Doctor Who tweet.

The 60th anniversary special will see David Tennant make an iconic comeback as the 15th Doctor alongside companion Rose (Yasmin Finney).

Sex Education's Ncuti Gatwa will take over the Tardis next Christmas 2023.

This year’s Children in Need will be hosted by Ade Adepitan MBE, Mel Giedroyc, Chris Ramsey, Alex Scott MBE and comedian Jason Manford, plus feature a children’s takeover of classic retro game show Blankety Blank with celeb contestants Maisie Smith and John Waite.

Romesh Ranganathan will host a special edition of The Weakest Link, while BBC One’s The Repair Shop take on a special restoration project and reveal the results live on air.

Plus there's performances from Lewis Capaldi, dance troupe Diversity, and the Children in Need choir will return with a tear-jerking special of Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know.

The big question is, who will be filling in the companion's new shoes?

Here's host Chris Ramsey talking to our Chris about tonight.

BBC’s Children in Need airs on BBC One and iPlayer tonight from 7pm.
