Filming has begun for the long-awaited second instalment of The Full Monty, 25 years after the classic, heartwarming 1997 movie.

Spotted on the streets of Leeds, the new Disney+ series is set to be released in 2024 and stars original actors Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy, Lesley Sharp, Hugo Speer, Paul Barber, Steve Huison, Wim Snape and Tom Wilkinson.

Fans went wild as the all-star cast and crew were seen at a flower shop in Chapel Allerton which has been transformed into a fictional florists called Forget Me Not.

The eight-part sequel series will be set in Sheffield and will focus on new and old characters, more than two decades later - with a new cast set to take on the roles of the children and grandchildren of the iconic characters.

One excited Twitter user commented: "The Full Monty. Probably one of the best British movies ever. Uncut gem. Missed it so much!"

A second added: "One of my favourite movie scenes of all time. The Full Monty."

"Happiness out of the blue. It took me only to google about the release date of Full Monty 2, which has already been filmed and is now being edited. It suddenly turned out that we are waiting for not just a movie, but 8 episodes of a short series from the Disney studio, wow!" praised a third.

Hot Stuff.
