Ahead of its premiere at the end of the month, Netflix has unveiled a new trailer for the action-packed Vikings spin-off.

Set around 100 years after the original Vikings series, Vikings: Valhalla follows the story of the legendary explorer Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), his fiery and headstrong sister Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson), and the ambitious Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter).

Tensions between the Vikings and the English Royals are reaching boiling point, and things are about to get violent. Things aren’t made any easier for the Vikings, who are clashing with each other over conflicting Christian and pagan beliefs.

It’s up to the three Vikings- Eriksson, Eriksdotter and Sigurdsson- to embark on an epic journey in search of survival and glory across oceans and battlefields in England, Kattegat and beyond.

If the trailer is anything go by, it’s going to be a bloody one too.

Watch the trailer below:

The first teaser for the series was released in December 2021, and according to showrunner and executive producer Jeb Stuart, the show has already been confirmed for future seasons.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “We’re already in prep on season 3.

“There’s a lot under the dam already that is exciting and big.”

He added: “We've got several great characters, and we've got stories in different countries and things like that. I think that you almost need to be able to look over the horizon.

"When I was out pitching it, I was trying to pitch it as a multi-season thing, because that way I can develop those characters in the storylines over a longer, longer throw. It wasn't like, 'What can we do with the Vikings this year?'

"Because those characters really do have not just emotional arcs, they have literally historical arcs. You can't just get to theme tomorrow or next year."

Vikings: Valhalla will premiere on Netflix on 25 February 2022.
