Fans were devastated when DC Florence Cassell decided to leave the island for good, but actress Josephine Jobert just reignited hopes she could make a return one day.
On Sunday night (30th January), Florence made the heartbreaking decision to leave St Marie, and Neville Parker, behind after finishing a dangerous undercover operation.
But speaking with Hello! Magazine, Josephine left the door slightly ajar for a potential revisit, but only under certain circumstances.
She said: “Maybe for a special episode, why not?!
"Maybe not next year because it'd be too soon. People are going to be like, 'What is she doing? Leaving, coming back, leaving, coming back. Like, girl!' But maybe in a few years, yeah, why not?"
It’s not the first time Josephine has taken some time away from Florence. She left the idyllic island back in 2019 before making her return two years later.

There are more episodes to come in the latest series, currently airing on BBC One, and Josephine admitted it would have been ‘unfair’ to not give Florence, or her fans, any closure.
Josephine continued: “Series ten was so good and we ended the series on a big cliffhanger between Neville and Florence, but I couldn't not come back, it would have been unfair.
"But I knew it would be just four episodes, to finish the story between the two characters and to be fair to the audience and respect them and that they follow the series… I couldn't just leave like that!"
Florence’s exit had been on the cards for a little while, but her eventual departure left fans heartbroken.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Just caught up with last nights death in paradise and wow I’m actually balling my eyes out at the end. Goodbye Florence you will be missed.”
Another commented: “Florence leaving Death in Paradise is proof to me that all good things must come to an end.”
A third said: “i just watched yesterdays death in paradise and i was not ready for florence to leave?! i am sobbing.”
Death in Paradise airs Fridays at 9pm on BBC One.
