Janice Dickinson and Fatima Whitbread have revealed their experience on the all-stars series has been “much more pleasant” than the first time around.

The pair are currently battling it out with other contestants to become the first I’m A Celebrity…South Africa champion, but it seems their time on the hit ITV show beforehand has proved quite useful.

Dickinson appeared on the series in 2008 and finished as runner-up, while Fatima came third when she entered the jungle in 2011.

Speaking to Daily Star about their experiences, Janice admitted she found it a lot easier this time

She said: “I thought the experience compared to Australia was much more pleasant. The campmates were much more pleasant.

“There didn’t seem to be that many rodents coming into the campsite like there was in Australia. I got bitten by a rat in Australia and it’s still sending me to the room with bad dreams.”

Fatima added: “For me it was tougher in many respects because we didn’t have public interactions which means there was much more head to heads and there were eliminations and secret ballots.

"Life in camp was completely different to my experience the first time around because you're living on a knife's edge because you never know when it's your turn to do a challenge."

She continued: “It could well be that you’re exiting the programme within a few days of you being there whereas in 2011 it was all about the stars and getting food for camp. But there was more of edge and it was much more competitive this time.”

Fatima also explained that even going to the toilet was a much better experience and said: "Even going to the drop, which they call the dunny in Australia, it was a nice walk and wasn't as foul smelling.

"Everything about it was much more pleasant than Australia."

I’m A Celebrity…South Africa airs weekdays at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
