Strictly’s Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice share sweet reunion on BBC show

Strictly Come Dancing fans were delighted last night after seeing Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis finally reunite onscreen.

The sweet reunion took place as part of the new BBC series Giovanni And Anton: Adventures In Sicily and fans saw the pair embrace at the end of last night’s episode (28th March).

A teaser for next week’s show saw Rose leaping out of a helicopter to surprise her former dance partner as they shared a big hug.

He asked her: “What are you doing here?” as the actress explained she was his surprise from Anton and joked he had been calling her and telling her Gio was “really boring” and so she flew out to “make it much better”.

Anton then told viewers as the pair hugged: “I thought this would be a lovely surprise for Giovanni, because they have a wonderful relationship, and a wonderful bond.”

Clearly touched by the surprise, Giovanni added: “What a lovely lovely lovely thing to do.”

Speaking to virginradio.co.uk and other press at a Q+A ahead of the launch, Anton previously talked about the rather ‘unique’ relationship Rose and Giovanni have.

He shared: “[Rose] is so funny, she has a really dry sense of humour. It was lovely because when you're on Strictly Come Dancing, you do form a very unique relationship with your partner that is sort of enduring as well. Every time you see them, it's lovely. It's because it's unique.”

Fans were equally as excited to see the pair back together and took to Twitter to share their excitement at next week’s episode.

One person said: “Gio and Rose one of my favourite partnerships I love their friendship #AdventuresInSicily”.

Another added: "Rose, can’t wait for next week #AdventuresInSicily."

While a third wrote: "I loved that! Anton & Gio are hilarious together & as ever I love seeing them both dance.

"Can’t wait for Rose to come into it next time, it’s going to be even more chaotic, bring it on lol @pernicegiovann1 @TheAntonDuBeke @RoseAylingEllis #AdventuresInSicily.”
