Charles Dance has revealed what fans can expect from his latest series Rabbit Hole and admits it's one of the “most exciting” things he’s ever done.

The actor joined the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with cinch this morning to talk about the new eight-part espionage thriller, which premiered with it’s first two episodes on Paramount+ today (27th March).

Rabbit Hole is about a corporate spy called John Weir (Keifer Sutherland), who finds himself being framed for murder by a mysterious world controlling power. In his fight against them, Weir must also fight for democracy as we know it.

Dance plays Dr Ben Wilson in the series, an ex-CIA operative, who is living with trauma of being part of such an organisation and has been left with debilitating paranoia. However, he is willing to risk everything to get what he wants, no matter who gets hurt along the way.

Speaking about the new series, Charles told Chris: “It's an espionage thriller that you really have to concentrate on because nothing is what it seems. You need to be really on the ball, you can't lay back, you know, with a bowl of crisps or something, you have to lean forward because you'll miss things.

“You can't trust any of the characters. I mean, I tell a monstrous lie and there are lots of other little lies. But it's one of the most exciting things that I've ever done.”

The series is so full of twists and surprises that even the actors were kept mostly in the dark about where the plot was going to go.

Charles explained: “We as actors were drip fed information in the way the audience is being drip fed information.

“There's very little that I can say because the character is full of spoilers.”

Even though he couldn’t give much away about the plot, Charles did say that they were treated very well backstage.

When asked if the catering was better than on the set of Game of Thrones, the actor admitted: “Game of Thrones was terrible to begin with until I complained. And after the first week, suddenly they changed the caterers, and we had fantastic catering after that!”

Episodes 1 and 2 of Rabbit Hole are now available to stream on Paramount+ with new episodes weekly.
