Noel Gallagher looks set to return with new music next week after teasing an upcoming announcement on his Instagram.

The former Oasis singer last released music with his High Flying Birds project back in 2017 with the LP Who Built The Moon, and last year, he released a best-of album called Back The Way We Came: Vol 1 (2011-202).

So, he is definitely due some new material.

In a post to his social media platforms, Gallagher shared a short clip with the date 31.10.22 and the caption 8:30AM (GMT), teasing an upcoming announcement that many are speculating will be new music.

Earlier this year, the singer said fans could expect something new from High Flying Birds with a fourth full-length album that he described as having a largely “orchestral” sound.

He told The Daily Star’s Wired column: “There is a track on the album called Dead To The World, which is one of the best songs I have ever written. It gives people goosebumps. It's quite orchestral and a bit like [1969 movie] Midnight Cowboy."

Speaking more about the orchestral vibe of the album, Noel said: “It was a conscious decision after Who Built The Moon?, which was quite electronic and psychedelic and beats and all that kind of thing.”

He added: “When I was writing these songs, I just heard strings and choirs.”

This comes after Gallagher insisted there would be “no point” in Oasis reforming during an interview earlier this month.

When asked about the possibility of teaming up with brother Liam again, he said: “As funny as this sounds, Oasis sell as many records now per year as we did when we were together. We’re as popular now in the eyes of the people as we ever were. And I’m happy with it.”

He added: “If we got back together there would be a circus – and there’s no point."

We can still dream!
