Bon Jovi have delivered a whole lot of belting singles throughout the decades, and they also hold a somewhat unusual record.
Ever since their 1986 song You Give Love a Bad Name peaked at number 14 of the UK Singles Chart, the band have hit the top 40 with their releases, with several of them having punctuated the top ten.
However, as reported by the Official UK Charts website, the New Jersey rockers hold the record for the band with the most Top 10 singles never to reach number one.
Yep, the band have an impressive 18 Top 10s to their name, but none of them have made it to the top spot.
We know what you’re thinking: Livin’ on a Prayer must have hit the top spot? Nope. It spent 37 weeks in the charts, making it to number four.
What about 1992’s Keep The Faith? Well, that one made it to number five.
Surely 1994’s epic power ballad, Always, made it to the summit? Well, no. That spent 11 weeks in the top 10 and had two separate stints at number two in 1994.
Elsewhere, It’s My Life from 2000 got to number three, and 2006’s Who Says You Can’t Go Home made it to number five.
The band have had 37 top 40 singles, and their songs have spent a total of 258 weeks in the top 75.
Whilst Bon Jovi have never had a number one single in the UK, they have had five number one albums. Indeed, they achieved a run of five consecutive number one records, from 1988’s New Jersey through to Crush in 2000.
They have also had a bunch of albums at number two, and their most recent record, the appropriately-titled 2020 from two years back, peaked at number five.
In related news, TikTok users have recently been surprised by what Jon Bon Jovi’s name really is.
