With Lewis Capaldi’s new record, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, coming next year, the artist has spoken about putting the album together, and what fans can expect from it.
The new LP is set to land in May next year, and follows his acclaimed debut, Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent.
In a new interview with The Guardian, the Scottish singer said that, when making his new album, he was feeling pressure. “I absolutely feel it,” he explained.
However, the singer-songwriter cut himself some slack, saying: “All you can do in this situation is write the best songs you can and kind of remember this is supposed to be fun.”
When telling The Guardian about the content of his new record, he explained: “I don’t have this sort of artistic desire to go off and reinvent myself. Not at all. I feel like the same person, so why would I be searching for something new?”
He continued: “I was very conscious about not writing an album about being famous, being successful. No one wants to hear: ‘Oh, I’m famous and my life’s s*** and I’m crying in my big house.’ I don’t want to inflict that on people, especially now.”
Before Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent lands, Lewis will embark on a huge arena tour.
Lewis said in a video: "So that's it, my brand new album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent is coming out in May next year. We've got a tour going everywhere - UK, Europe, America, Australia, there'll be more to come, I'm very sure of it."
