He’s had a glittering career, and now Elton John has done something that even the likes of David Bowie, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Cher and Cliff Richard haven’t managed.

Elton’s new song, Cold Heart (PNAU Remix), which also features Dua Lipa, has landed in the Official UK Top Ten, which means that the Rocket Man has now had a top ten song in the UK in six different decades! He is the first artist to have achieved the feat.

Cold Heart, which is taken from Elton’s upcoming new collaborations album, The Lockdown Sessions, has become his 33rd top 10 single in the UK. His first hit was all the way back in 1971 with the iconic ballad Your Song.

Throughout his amazing career, the singer-songwriter has achieved seven UK number one singles, including the UK’s biggest-selling single of all-time with Candle In The Wind 97/Something About The Way You Look Tonight.

Elton’s most successful period was the 1970s, when ten of his singles hit the top ten, including Rocket Man and Don't Go Breaking My Heart.

The 74-year-old singer might score his eighth number one this weekend, as Cold Heart looks set to oust Ed Sheeran's Shivers from the top spot.

And there is more to come from Elton this year, as he is teaming up with Ed Sheeran, with whom he is battling this week for the number one spot. The duo are set to release a joint Christmas single this year.

Elton’s latest album drops on 22nd October. The Lockdown Sessions is a collection of collaborations featuring artists such as Lil Nas X, Stevie Wonder, Nicki Minaj, Stevie Nicks, and Dua Lipa.

The legendary artist was supposed to be heading out to gig around Europe and the UK later this year as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. Unfortunately the tour has had to be postponed until 2023 due to a hip injury.

Elton fans can, however, catch him on TV this weekend, as he will be appearing on Later... With Jools Holland on Saturday night, at 9.30pm on BBC Two and iPlayer.
