The internet has given us many tips and hacks, and Mrs Hinch is one of the best sources for a nifty trick.

The domestic guru has now left fans astounded with a discovery that will cut down on the washing up.

She asked her followers: "What have I been doing all my life?" when she discovered the McDonald's Happy Meal trick.

Also known as Sophie Hinchcliffe, she shared a video of a McDonald's Happy Meal box with her tearing a hidden middle strip.

By doing so, it divides the brightly-coloured box into two, and revealed the burger, fries and toy within.

She then simply emptied the fries and into the bottom part of the box before adding the burger.

Mrs Hinch showed how the box had turned into a tray to hold the food, saving on the washing up.

"Yep, I was today years old when I realised that you could do this," she joked.

"What have I been doing all my life? I have no idea, but I can promise you now, this has changed my life forever.”

She also wrote: "WHHHAATTT! Please tell me I’m not alone here? Did anyone else not know this? why am I always late to the party. Use this audio and share a hack you’ve discovered! No this is not sponsored by McDonald’s in anyway (I wish it was) ATB [all the best]!!”

Another commenter replied: “Oh my God how did you not know this. You know about pouring your chips into the top part of your burger box though yes?”

Even McDonald’s got involved, writing: “Bonus: the kids think you’re some kind of magician.”
