If, like us, you've still got a zillion things to send in the Christmas post, you'd better get a wriggle on because strike action is taking place on 14, 15, 23 and 24 December.
Members of the CWU union are calling for better pay, which means Royal Mail employees are downing tools in the run-up to Christmas leaving shops, businesses and the general public in fear of not getting their parcels and letters delivered on time.
While the Royal Mail recommended sending 2nd class letters, signed for and Royal Mail 48 letters and parcels by 12 December, you can still get your goods there by sending them 1st class post, 1st class signed for, Royal Mail 24 and Royal Mail Tracked 48 until this Friday (16 December).
Customers can use Royal Mail Tracked 24 up until 19 December for arrivals in time for Christmas Day, advise Royal Mail's website.
However, there is a 'major' backlog of items. An insider told the Telegraph: "The back-up of the post is really bad. Royal Mail is focusing on parcels and there is not a lot of room in the model for letters.
"Christmas cards will likely be very late with some certainly not arriving until February."
In the meantime, have a listen to Eddy T-M's top Xmas tunes.
