It sometimes feels like cleaning tips all include vinegar.
The item is a must-have in the kit of a cleaning fanatic, to get things sparkling.
Now, one expert has warned there are several places where you should never use vinegar in your cleaning.
Neat Caroline, aka neat.caroline, has made a new viral video explaining where vinegar can do more harm than good.
“If you know me, you know I love vinegar, but here’s some things you should never clean with vinegar," she says.
The first place is to keep it well away from your electronics.
TV and computer screens are a major no-no, as she explains: "Vinegar will damage the anti-glare coating on your screens.”
There are several items in the kitchen that can be ruined by the potent substance.
Gesturing to a cast iron pan, Caroline says: “Vinegar causes rusting and removes the seasoning oils on the surface.”
She also says it's best to avoid kitchen and bathroom worktops.
She continues: “Vinegar can cause edging and wear away at the surface over time.”
It's also a nightmare for waxed or unfinished wood surfaces, as it will change their appearance.
She reveals: “Cleaning the floors with vinegar will cause discolouration over time.”
Lastly, Caroline explains the reasoning behind not using vinegar on stainless steel knives.
She says: “Vinegar can damage the finish and leave the edges pitted.”
Some of her followers left worried comments saying they had made these mistakes.
One confessed she had cleaned her TV with a vinegar solution a few times, Caroline replied: “That’s ok! A few times shouldn’t be a big deal.”
Have you used vinegar on any of these?
