Father Christmas might only visit your house one night a year, but there is a way that you can have him in your home whenever you want, via your Amazon Echo.

Yes indeed, it’s now possible to summon up the big man simply by speaking to your Amazon Echo device. All you need to do is say: “Alexa, enable 'Hey, Santa.”

But what happens after that?

Well, once you’ve said the magic words, Father Christmas will bring the festive vibes by telling jokes, regaling you with stories, and even singing songs.

Not only that, but Saint Nick is even teaming up with some celebrity chums to entertain you. If you say “Hey Santa, sing your duet with Meghan Trainor” then you’ll hear him performing an exclusive song with, yes… you’ve guessed it, award-winning singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor.

And if you say “Alexa, read my RNIB Letter from Santa” he’ll read some amazing messages from sight-loss charity, the Royal National Institute of Blind People.

You can also ask how many days there are until Christmas, and find out exactly where the busy man is on his present delivery route.

He’ll tell you about his reindeer, and will answer some questions which are particularly important at this time of year, including whether you are on the Nice List, and you can even find out what he thinks of your Christmas jumper!

Here are a few things for you to try out once you have enabled “Hey, Santa.”

“Hey Santa, sing We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

“Hey Santa, sing the 12 Days of Christmas.”

“Hey Santa, sing Deck the Halls.”

“Hey Santa, tell me a story.”

“Hey Santa, tell me the North Pole news.”

“Hey Santa, tell me about your reindeer.”

“Hey Santa, can you laugh?”

“Hey Santa, what is your favourite food?”

“Hey Santa, merry Christmas”

“Hey Santa, let’s dance.”

“Hey Santa, tell me a joke.”

“Hey Santa, let’s play a game.”

“Hey Santa, give me advice.”
