Rihanna and Jay-Z respond to viral video of residents recreating her Super Bowl routine

This is one of the best things we've seen all year. A crew of residents from a care home in the US recreated Rihanna's Super Bowl routine and broke the internet. Now, both the superstar singer and Jay-Z have reached out to the brilliant senior performers to commend them.

A posse of 11 residents at the Arcadia Senior Living Bowling Green Independent and Assisted Living were dressed in white and red outfits to match the original performance. The Kentucky care home posted the excellent video of them dancing to Rihanna's halftime routine on TikTok and they have had the best response.

Rihanna showed her love and appreciation for the residents of Arcadia Senior Living and sent 100 white roses to the 89 residents over the weekend. In the note was written: "You ladies dance was amazing [sic], love Roc Nation, Rihanna."

A further 100 red roses were sent to the care home by iconic rapper Jay-Z. It read: "We love the TikTok here at Roc Nation! Jay-Z."

The centre's director of community relations, Paige Oakes, told BuzzFeed News about their 'shock' over the surprise.

She said: "This whole time, we've just been waiting for a response from Rihanna - not really thinking that it would ever happen because we know she's busy and we didn't really know if she saw it or not.

"It made our day knowing that it reached her and she got to watch it and enjoy seeing our residents dancing to her music and having fun."

Racking up over 32 million views, people applauded: "I love them!"

"Shining bright like diamonds," said another user.

"Better than the half time show," praised a viewer.

"They were killing it," said a fan.

"Retirement goals," another said.

One commented: "Whoever the program activity coordinator is needs a raise ASAP."

The retirement home's director of life engagement, Maitlin Nuckols, who created the TikTok account with Oakes, explained: "Everybody loves to see the older generation letting loose and having fun.

"You always think of the older population in this way, and then I feel like this video just kind of shows a different side of them."
