Virgin Radio presenter Jayne Middlemiss will be putting her music experience to the test on this weekend’s episode of Celebrity Mastermind.

On Saturday (11th March), Jayne will be sat in the infamous chair opposite host Clive Myrie, and will compete against 2022 Apprentice winner Harpreet Kaur, comic Neil Delamere and presenter Amar Latif.

Our Jayne will do her best to answer questions all about Duran Duran, and shared the exciting news on Instagram, writing: “OMG.. This Saturday I am on BBC 1 Celebrity Mastermind at 5.40pm. Please tune in to see if not doing any revision on a specialist subject works.”

Jayne stopped by The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with cinch this morning (Friday 10th March) to chat about her upcoming appearance, and dished why she decided to pick Duran Duran as her subject.

It turns out our Jayne is a pretty big fan of Simon Le Bon and the gang, and shared with Chris: “I thought I'm the master. I was in the fan club, so I just picked Duran Duran. [Mastermind] send you loads of stuff. They said, ‘we take our material from here, here, here, just do your research.’ So I rock up, I’ve done nowt, and I sort of rock up thinking, ‘I was in the fan club when I was 13, you know, I'll be fine’...and we’ll see how it went tomorrow.”

While her quiz prowess is still up in the air, Jayne still had a good time, even with the tension turned up to the max.

“It was a lot of fun," she added. "But they do make it as scary as possible on TV. They dip the lights and they don't talk to you when you’re in the studio. It's dark and then they dip the lights...they put the music on.”

Speaking about the upcoming line-up when they were first unveiled in February, host Clive said in a statement: “Our fantastic celebrity line-ups are always a brave bunch. All in the name of charity, they willingly step out of their comfort zones in order to face the icy embrace of the famous black chair. Will they crack under the pressure? Viewers will have to tune in to find out.”

Jimmy Mulville, Managing Director Hat Trick Productions, added: “Given how popular Celebrity Mastermind is proving with audiences it’s clear that watching them squirm answering difficult questions in a leather chair is providing a real public service in these difficult times!”

During Jayne’s episode, Harpreet will answer questions about Leonardo DiCaprio film The Wolf of Wall Street, while Amar will be quizzed about pioneering soul artist Sam Cooke. Neil Delamere is all about history and will test his knowledge on the Vikings.

Jayne’s Celeb Mastermind appearance will aim to raise money for the Jubilee Hall Trust, which is dedicated to building healthy communities by promoting fitness and wellbeing of individuals within them.

Meanwhile, to celebrate International Women’s Day, Jayne has compiled a list of the five most influential and inspiring women across music, art and TV, and you can check out the list here.

You can listen to Jayne Middlemiss on Virgin Radio UK weekdays 1-4pm on DAB, online, Sky TV, smart speakers or via the 'Virgin Radio UK' app.
