Keanu Reeves is no stranger to an action film after landing many incredibly tough roles over his career.

However, the star of Speed and The Matrix has revealed his latest project has been the most physically challenging.

Keanu talked to Total Film about the new film: "John Wick: Chapter 4 has the most action of any of the [John Wick] films, which is saying a lot," Reeves said.

"And it’s more by a good margin. It’s a big show."

He says the filming process was intense and was definitely gruelling.

"John Wick: Chapter 4 was the hardest physical role I’ve ever had in my career so far,"

"They really trained me up to be able to have, what we call, the 'toolbox'."

His 'toolbox' of stunts has got even more impressive.

He can now add high-speed car chases and stunts to the list, and Keanu described the tricks as "next level".

"There’s 180s, forward-into-reverse 180s, reverse-into-forward 270s, [and] drifting. So it was really fun to get a chance to learn those skills, and to play," he said.

Stunt coordinator and second unit director Scott Rogers said it was a fun project.

Donnie Yen stars alongside Reeves in the role of Wick's newest rival, Caine.

Rogers says Yen 'brings "master level" fighting abilities.

"He is a great actor who is also a trained fighter. His ability to enhance the choreography through his own creativity is world class," Rogers added, as per Total Film.

"When you add that to the many years of John Wick training that Keanu Reeves has invested, you end up with something very special."

Reeved calls the film "banana cakes", so you know you're in for a treat.

"John Wick: Chapter 4 is our [magnum] opus. Oh my god, it’s crazy, man," he added.
