Meryl Streep is upping the already high Hollywood factor in Only Murders in the Building.

The mystery series, which airs on Disney+ in the UK, has Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez as its main cast, but now, Oscar-winning legend Meryl will round out the talent list of the third season.

Not only that, but Ant-Man himself, Paul Rudd, will play the latest victim in the upcoming run of episodes.

Confirming the news via Twitter, Steve shared a smiling selfie alongside Meryl, Paul, Martin and Selena, and captioned the black-and-white snap: “The filming of Season 3 of “Only Murders in the Building” has begun!  A cast to dream of.”

The OMITB social media account added: “It is an HONOR to have Meryl in our building!”

Selena also shared the news that cameras had just started rolling on series three via Instagram.

In her video, the actress is sat next to her long-time co-stars, panning to Steve and Martin, and says: “Hey guys, we're on set! What are we shooting? Season 3! The gang is back! Yay! Could this honestly get any better? Oh wait!"

The camera then pans to Paul, who says: “Well, I do think it could get a little bit better."

It’s then that Meryl playfully pops up behind the sofa Selena and the gang are sat on, and the Oscar-winner then cheekily asks Steve if he wants a pillow, and starts attending to her new co-stars needs.

"Marty, anything you need?,” Meryl asks, before the comedian responds: "Just the tea that I had asked for half an hour ago, thank you."

Selena tells the It’s Complicated star: "I'm okay. Thank you, ma'am. You're sweet,” before visibly squealing in awe towards the camera.

Marvel star Paul’s involvement in series three came to light in August, with the actor set to star as Broadway actor Ben Glenroy after turning up in the season two finale, which is called I Know Who Did It.

In a statement to Variety, series co-creator John Hoffman said: “Paul Rudd, after making an auspicious entrance into the world of our show at the end of Season 2 as Ben Glenroy, is someone we clearly want to know more about and see in our upcoming Season 3 — as he is a clear source of many upcoming questions and, as ever with our show, many twists yet to come!”

If you’re not aware of Only Murders in the Building, the Disney+ series follows three true-crime podcast fans who start their own podcast after there is a murder in the building in which they all live, in an Upper West Side building in New York City.

Seasons one and two of Only Murders in the Building are now available to stream on Disney+.
