Jeff Goldblum says having two young sons is "such fun" and "revivifying".

Jeff turned 70 last month, and is father to five-year-old River and seven-year-old Charlie, with his wife Emilie Livingston.

Jeff said in a new interview: "It's amazing, it's revivifying, and makes my relationship with Emilie, frankly, enhanced."

"Seeing her in this new role is unbelievable. She's heroic beyond imagination", he told Hoda Kotb on Today.

He's honest though that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows.

"It's challenging and it's sometimes maddening and very volatile" he confessed.

"As you know, at 3 and 5, 5 and 7 they can be like feral creatures unleashed. Oh yeah, and sweet and amazing. It's great."

He also said he is "glad" he waited to have children.

"It feels great to do it right now, because all the things I'm considering are perfectly suited to the big questions and challenges of having kids, and what you want to expose them to.

"What you want to leave them with, what life is, and what kind of life you contribute to them."

Jeff married Canadian retired Olympic gymnast Emilie in 2014.

They first met during a training session at the gym.

In 2018, Jeff recalled: "We were at Equinox on Sunset Blvd., the gym. I saw her from across a crowded room, and I marched up to her, entranced, and began some kind of conversation."

Their sons are called Charlie Ocean and River Joe.

Jeff had been married twice before Emilie.

He was first married to Patricia Gaul from 1980 to 1985, and then to Geena Davis from 1987 to 1991.

Jeff also dated Jurassic Park co-star Laura Dern.

They split up after two years in 1997.

Jeff regularly keeps fans updated with family life on his social media.
