If you’re not feeling very festive yet, Channel 5 is determined to change that with their new Christmas line-up.

Channel 5 is going all out for the Christmas season, and have confirmed they will be showing a cosy festive movie every day from 2:15pm until the Big Day itself.

They even started quietly adding the Crimbo-focused films in October, for those who love a bit of festive cheer before the Halloween decorations come down.

The broadcaster is famous for playing the heartwarming made-for-TV movies, usually produced by the likes of Hallmark and Lifetime studios, but they’ve mixed in some big screen stories too, including Christmas with the Kranks starring Tim Allen.

Not only are they regaling the telly schedule with a Christmas caper every day, but every Saturday and Sunday, Channel 5 are also putting back-to-back festive films, making up seven hours of wintry content.

Speaking to Metro, a spokesperson for the broadcaster said: “Channel 5 holds viewers at its very heart and there is nothing more heart-warming than a weekday festive film! People are looking for cheer and hope at a challenging time and Christmas movies bring both.

“We are proud to be the home of the Christmas movie, treating viewers to a daily 2.15pm matinee from Monday to Friday on Channel 5 and My5.”

To ease everyone into the season, Channel 5 are taking things slowly with just one Christmas film a day up until the 23rd November, before weekday afternoons will be jam-packed with touching festive stories.

If you need even more Christmas movies in your life, Netflix have just released the first trailer for their take on a classic, A Christmas Carol

Yes, adding to the existing movie versions of the Dickens’ classic (which includes the iconic Muppets version from 1992) is a new offering from Netflix, which stars Luke Evans as the voice of Scrooge.

The animated musical is an adaptation of Scrooge from the 1970’s, which was itself based on Charles Dickens’ novel. Along with Luke Evans, it also features the voice of Oscar-winning legend Olivia Colman. The star of The Crown and Peep Show will play a character called Past who, judging by her name, will be the first ghost to visit on Christmas Eve.
