Channing Tatum shares first-look at Magic Mike’s Last Dance

The massively successful Magic Mike series is set for a third outing. And its lead actor, Channing Tatum, has given fans a peek of himself and another Hollywood star, Salma Hayek, in the upcoming new film.

Magic Mike's Last Dance will see Tatum return as stripper/furniture designer Mike Lane, and while plot details remain a closely-kept secret at this stage, we know that it will be directed by Steven Soderbergh, who helmed the first movie, with Reid Carolin writing and producing again.

Alongside Hayek, Caitlin Gerard and Gavin Spokes will also feature.

And, as a new first-look photo proves, Salma Hayek will be getting up close and personal with the film’s main character. 

Taking to Twitter, Channing Tatum shared a photo from the new film, which shows Hayek’s hand on his abs. He captioned it: “All good things begin in Miami.”

The tweet also revealed that the film will land in cinemas  “Valentine’s Day weekend.”

Whilst the second instalment in the series, 2015's Magic Mike XXL - directed by Gregory Jacobs- was generally thought to be the last Magic Mike movie, Soderbergh said in a statement that Tatum’s Magic Mike Live Las Vegas shows made him keen to do another one. “As soon as I saw what Channing, Reid, and the Magic Mike choreographic team did with the live show, I said we have to make another movie." 

The Las Vegas show has branched out to London, Berlin, Australia and Miami.

Soderbergh statement added: “Mike Lane's dream of connecting people through dance must be realised!”

As reported earlier this year by IndieWire, Tatum said: “In my opinion, we had chewed up all the meat on the bone, story-wise. Pun intended, I guess... We didn't plan on making a second one."

He continued: “What we learned in the live show was really interesting, too. At the opening of the show in Berlin, Reid and Soderbergh were talking and they said, 'There’s another movie here. We should look at it.' Reid got on the old keys and started typing.”

Magic Mike's Last Dance will premiere on 10th February, 2023.
