If you were blown away by Adam Sandler’s 2019 massively tense movie Uncut Gems, then you’ll be pleased to learn that he’s joining forces again with its directors/writers for a new film.

The Hollywood star will once again team up with Josh and Benny Safdie for an as-yet untitled project for Netflix. As reported by Deadline, the new film is currently in development, with the Uncut Gems writer-directors in the process of finishing off the script.

Because the new movie is only in the early stages of development, there aren’t many details in terms of plot, but Deadline’s sources have suggested that it will be set “in the world of high-end card collecting”.

If the new film is anything like Uncut Gems, then we’re in for a seriously stressful ride. In case you haven’t seen Uncut Gems, the movie from A24 sees Sandler play jeweller Howard Ratner, who makes a high-stakes bet that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime. However, he finds himself in a frantic race against the clock after things go south.

Uncut Gems was a hit with critics, and currently has a rating of 91 percent on review aggregating site, Rotten Tomatoes.

If you can’t wait to see the new collaboration between Adam Sandler and the Safdie brothers, then the bad news is that the film likely won’t see the light of day for a while, as filming isn’t scheduled to start until next year.

However, if you haven’t already checked out the actor’s most recent movie, then it is currently available to stream on Netflix. Hustle sees Sandler play a down-on-his-luck basketball scout, who finds a potential superstar in Spain, and sets out to prove they both have what it takes to make it in the NBA.
