Jeremy Clarkson has responded to Richard Madeley's hilarious name gaff. The TV stars found themselves in a palm-sweating predicament as the former This Morning presenter called him the wrong name on the celebrity edition of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?.

Airing on Sunday night, (16th October), the TV host accidentally called him former Millionaire presenter Chris (Tarrant).

"Which of these abbreviations is used when someone wants something done immediately?" Clarkson asked Madeley.

"I shall answer As Soon As Possible, Chris, it's A. Final answer."

The host quickly responded: "I'm not Chris."

A laughing Madeley asked: "Does that happen often?" with Clarkson adding: "You look young, but you're senile."

Clarkson added: "This is gonna be great this show," while Madeley joked: "It's going well."

Madeley, who starred on the show in 2004 alongside wife Judy Finnigan when Tarrant was fronting the show, admitted Judy had reminded him not to call Clarkson 'Chris'.

He said: "The last thing that Judy said to me before I came on was whatever you do, don't call him Chris."

Clarkson later had a jovial pop at Madeley and said: "Anyway, Piers," pretending to mix him up with former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan.

It wasn't Richard's only red-faced moment of the show. The keen presenter tried to jump into Clarkson's seat by mistake earlier in the episode, instead of the seat for contestants.
