Social media star cat helps to raise money for Ukrainian pets

What a cutie this cat is.

The internet has given us many brilliant things, but the millions of pictures of cute cats are definitely up there at the top for the best additions.

They're not all just a pretty face, though.

One famous feline has raised thousands of dollars for animal relief in Ukraine.

Enter Stepan the cat.

The famous kitty is the face of an Instagram account called Loveyoustepan.

He has 1.2 million followers and started collecting money over PayPal last week.

The funds are going to be donated to 5 different animal charities in Ukraine.

So far, a whopping $10,035 has been raised and counting.

Where will the money go? It's been earmarked for five charities, including Happy Paw, UAnimals, Mykolaiv Zoo, XII Months and Plyushka.

The funds will provide aid to animals in Ukraine affected by the war.

Stepan and his family were forced to leave Kharkiv and flee to France.

Many famous faces have fallen in love with the adorable Stepan.

The likes of Britney Spears have shared pictures of the cat on their social media.

He was rescued as a one-month-old kitten and went viral on TikTok, posing with a glass of red wine as a Stevie Wonder song plays in the background.
