The team behind Channel 4’s telly-watching series Gogglebox are looking for North of England families to join the cast.

Whether you’re a family of four, a loved-up couple or a group of friends, as long as you can't get enough of the latest shows, Channel 4 wants to hear from you.

Gogglebox producer Erica Von Stein reached out via Instagram (as reported by The Yorkshire Post), and specified the locations the team are now looking in for their next armchair enthusiasts.

She wrote: “Looking for funny families in the NORTH of England for new series of C4's Gogglebox.

"Leave a comment below if this sounds like you and feel free to tag anyone who would be perfect."

So where are they looking? Erica continued: "I'm looking to have chats with hilarious families / couples / groups of friends from LIVERPOOL, BRADFORD, DEWSBURY, SHEFFIELD and surrounding areas for an upcoming series of Gogglebox.

"Please tag the funniest people you know particularly interested in speaking to diverse groups who are underrepresented. Get in touch!"

It seems Gogglebox is turning its attention to north of the country, and north of the border too.

Ahead of the new series, which began last month, they introduced their first Scottish telly watchers.

After their mission to introduce a Scottish family to the show, new couple Joe and Roisin were added to the line-up.

Joe and Roisin have been together for four years and live at Joe’s family home in Glasgow, having moved in together at the beginning of lockdown.

According to Channel 4, Roisin loves shopping, getting dressed up and socialising with friends. Joe loves playing video games, pizza making and spending time with Roisin.

Joe and Roisin are the first Scottish couple - based in Scotland - to be featured on the show, and TV bosses have been keen to introduce one to the varied mix.

They even set aside money in their budget, as mentioned by Channel 4 chief executive Alex Mahon, who was asked by the Scottish Affairs Committee if they could find someone from the region to take part.

Gogglebox continues on Channel 4 on Fridays at 9pm.
