The One Show's Alex Jones playfully mocks ITV up against BBC's Euros coverage

Alex Jones has made a jokey observation at ITV's coverage of the 2021 football and how England have faired so far. Beating Croatia and drawing against fellow home nations country Scotland, according to The One Show presenter there's a pattern when it comes to England's wins and what side they're being shown on.

Broadcasting on both BBC and ITV, she told football's Jermaine Jenas: "Well, a few people, right, and this isn't an exact science - but apparently, England win far more games when the games are covered on the BBC rather than ITV."

Jermaine responded: "You know what, let's just leave that there shall we and get on with tonight's show!"

Along with Alex, the BBC show's guest comedian Joe Lycett also doesn't know too much about the sport.

Jermaine told Joe after his rapturous applause: "You're doing a great job. Better than our team England against Scotland."

Joe replied: "I don't know football, but yes."

"Oh, I'm talking to two of you today then!" Jermaine laughed.

Alex went on to ask: "So, home nations - that's good, because they're all through?"

Jermaine explained: "Nearly. You were doing so well. England look like they're going to be going through. Wales are through, you'll be pleased to hear.

"But Scotland have got a bit of a game to come up against Croatia, but it's just got a bit more difficult for them."
