Americans may have cracked a lot of things in life - but roundabouts are not one of them. Here's some scary evidence to prove that our friends across the pond haven't quite got to grips with the road system.

When authorities added a roundabout over a junction in Rowan County, Kentucky, the results are like something off a classic You've Been Framed clip - complete with funny music.

The video shot by Walker Construction shows the cars in question going bonkers and taking the wrong exits, the wrong way round and practically driving blindfolded.

Locals aren't happy with the new road addition and claim that the old four-way stop junction was working just fine and the roundabout installed in north-eastern Kentucky may be the first - and the last.

Local man Jason Whisman told WYKT news: "It's going to throw them for a loop. A complete 360. No doubt about it."

Another added: "I'm sure that it's going to take them a while to get used to it, but once they get used to it, I'm sure it's going to work very well."

A transport official said of the change: "We're looking at a way to reduce the severity of crashes that this intersection has a history of."
