Can you imagine what a less PG take on the iconic film Mrs Doubtfire would look like? Last week a viral tweet re-emerged the information that the 1993 film has several versions thanks to the late great Robin Williams being such a pro at improv.

Numerous cuts of the film exist in PG, PG-13 and R which have never seen the light of day and has captured the imagination of fans across the globe who are desperate to see what other shades Robin had to offer.

Director Chris Columbus told Entertainment Weekly recently: "The reality is that there was a deal between Robin and myself, which was, he'll do one or two, three scripted takes.

"And then he would say, 'Then let me play.' And we would basically go on anywhere between 15 to 22 takes, I think 22 being the most I remember.

“I would be open to maybe doing a documentary about the making of the film, and enabling people to see certain scenes re-edited in an R-rated version.

"The problem is, I don't recall most of it. I only know what's in the movie at this point because it's been a long time. But I do remember it was outrageously funny material."

The director previously told Yahoo! Entertainment in a 2015 in an interview how the film may have looked and that Robin Williams was 'without a doubt, the best actor' he'd ever worked with.

Columbus said: "For instance, in the dinner scene toward the end of the movie, the other actors had no idea what he was going to say... and it was getting their expressions and reactions the first time they ever heard him say something like that.”
