My Mum, Your Dad’s Roger and Janey have opened up about how close season one’s family of singletons have remained since filming wrapped last year.

Speaking with virginradio.co.uk ahead of the launch of season two, the pair explained that the group of single-parents who appeared on the UK’s first edition of the show have remained in touch over the last year.

“Everyone’s very friendly with each other,” Janey shared. “I always liken [My Mum, Your Dad] to going on a two week holiday where you met a great bunch of people, and you stay in touch.

“I still stay in touch a lot with Caroline, we message probably every day,” she added.

“I’m friends with everybody still,” Roger said. “But it’s so busy to fit your family, friends, kids, etc. in.” Janey agreed, explaining that while the group of season one contestants may still be in touch, they don’t manage to meet up that often.

“[But] I’ll always be thankful for the lads that were in there,” Roger added. “Because they helped me get over the first couple of days where I was really scared, and really out of my comfort zone. They were all brilliant with me, and so yeah, they made it easier for me.”

Season one success story Roger and Janey kept tight-lipped when asked whether or not they might be making an appearance to surprise and inspire season two’s retreat hopefuls who are looking for love.

They also didn’t let on (assuming they were in the know) about the show’s recent twist, which saw season one singleton Paul and his daughter Mazey return to the show to give Paul another go at finding a potential partner on the retreat.

Speaking about reappearing on the show, Paul name dropped Roger and Janey and the rest of his season one friends when he shared: “I have a clearer idea of what I want now after S1 of the show. Plus it really does work, as you see Roger and Janey still going strong. And if it doesn’t work out, you get to meet some amazing people.”

My Mum, Your Dad continues on ITV1 weekdays at 9pm. The first five episodes are currently available to stream on ITVX.
