Nick Knowles has opened up about his Strictly Come Dancing experience so far, and it’s fair to say, it’s been a bit of a shock to the system.

The TV presenter is taking part in the 22nd series of the hit BBC dancing show and, even though we haven’t even made it to the live shows yet, the training seems to be taking its toll.

Speaking to virginradio.co.uk and other press ahead of the first episode on 14th September, Knowles admitted it had been tough so far.

“I’m elated and knackered, I think is probably the two words I’ve put together,” he said. “It is the most fabulous experience with the most fabulous people, but it’s also one of the toughest things that I’ve ever tried to do.”

In anticipation of the hard work, Nick even started hitting the gym to make things a bit easier in the training room but it doesn’t seemed to have worked as well as he hoped.

He explained, “I’d been really in heavy training now for like six weeks in the lead up to this, and I lost a lot of weight and done a lot of running and a lot of gym work to get my heart rate down and fit.

“It’s been an absolute shock, I thought I’d be ready to deal with it, and I’m not ready at all.”

Nick joked: “If anyone would like to donate their feet, I need to change mine because they’ve had it!”

It may be all glitz and glamour on the night, but no one said it was easy!

The presenter will be joined by the likes of JLS singer JB Gill, Love Island alumni Tasha Ghouri and reality star Pete Wicks in the new series of Strictly. The dancefloor will also be welcoming its first blind contest with comedian Chris McCausland.
