Stephen Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders, is working on a new drama called House of Guinness, and the cast has now been revealed.
The Netflix series was announced earlier this year and will tell the epic story of one of Europe’s most eccentric and enduring dynasties.
The cast, which has just been revealed, includes James Norton, who is best known for playing villain Tommy Lee Royce in Happy Valley. And he’s not the only familiar face involved.

Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story will “focus on the consequences of the death of Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his cunning will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the growing juggernaut that is Guinness.”
Norton will play Sean Rafferty, while Seamus O'Hara plays Patrick Cochrane. You’ll know Rafferty from portraying Lee Thompson, the main antagonist in series two of Blue Lights.
Also announced are Game of Thrones actor Jack Gleeson as Byron Hedges, and Michael McElhatton - also from GoT - as John Potter.
Louis Partridge from Enola Holmes portrays Edward Guinness, while Black Mirror's Emily Fairn is Anne Plunket, Normal People's Fionn O'Shea plays Benjamin Guinness.
Anthony Boyle from Masters of the Air plays Arthur Guinness, and Doctor Who's Dervla Kirwan portrays Aunt Agnes Guinness.
The cast also includes Niamh McCormack, Danielle Galligan, David Wilmot and Hilda Fay.
Netflix announced that House of Guinness is officially in production in a post on X:
In a statement about House of Guinness, Knight said: “I am thrilled that we have such an exceptional cast and such an exceptional team to tell this story inspired by an exceptional family."
Meanwhile, the upcoming Peaky Blinders film will also be homed on Netflix, as recently confirmed by the streaming platform.
And the exciting news is that Cillian Murphy will be back to reprise his role as Tommy Shelby, with the Oppenheimer actor saying: “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me…It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”
