One Day stars Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall have recorded a video to celebrate One Day Day, aka 15th July.
Posted onto Netflix’s UK and Ireland X account at 9am, the pair thanked fans for all their support since the popular series based on David Nicholls’ book of the same name was released onto Netflix in February this year.
In One Day, viewers follow the love story of beloved characters Emma and Dexter over the course of several years, from their very first meeting at a graduation ball on St Swithin’s Day, the 15th July. The show then checks in on the couple each year on the same day every year.

“Happy One Day Day!” the pair began the video by saying together, before they both shared separate messages of thanks to the eventually heartbreaking romantic drama series’ fans.
“This is just to say thank you,” Mod continued. “From the bottom of my heart, and every other vital organ in my body. Thank you for watching the show, for loving the show as you guys have in your millions.
“Making this show was one of the greatest joys of my life,” the This is Going To Hurt star added. “The way that you all have taken these characters in, taken the story in, whether that’s for the first, second or third time, makes all of it way more worthwhile than I thought it was already before the show came out.
Woodall shared a similar message, saying: “Thank you. Your support and your love for this show means so much to me and so much to everyone who worked so hard on it.
“The reaction has just been amazing. The story means a lot to me and Dexter means a lot to me. I’m just very grateful,” he added.
Signing off the pair’s celebratory message, Ambika quoted in character as Emma: “Alright, see you soon - bye my love!” before guiltily apologising to fans: “I shouldn’t have ended it that way. That was cruel, I’m sorry.”
Netflix’s social media team have continued to celebrate One Day Day by posting photos from each of the 15ths of July featured in the show. The social media account also changed its bio to read: “36 years ago today, Dex met Em,” to recognise the fictional pair’s first meeting in 1988.
Today feels like the perfect day for fans of the show to maybe rewatch One Day once more. Just don’t forget your tissues!
