This Morning co-host Dermot O’Leary will front a brand new game show all about staying as quiet as possible.
Silence is Golden is UKTV’s latest format, where the studio audience is given a whopping £250,000 and all they need to do to keep it is to not make any noise whatsoever.
Every audience member will be mic'd up, but all hell will break loose as 30 different acts, led by comedian captains including Katherine Ryan, will bust out of the green room and try to force a sound out the unsuspecting crowd.

The more the audience laughs or makes any noise, that prize pot will go down, and if it gets to zero, that means the performers will get to give the money to charity.
The intriguing format is one of a number of brand new shows UKTV have commissioned alongside Jimmy Carr’s Battle in the Box as well as Follow The Leader with Jamali Maddix.
Silence is Golden host Dermot said in a statement: “I'm so looking forward to Silence is Golden. When a show like this falls into your lap, you can't quite believe your luck.
“Looking forward to having lots of fun with the audience, our comedians and assorted cast of regulars, all trying to make the audience laugh, gasp and giggle".
TV host Richard Bacon’s company Yes Yes Media is behind the new series, and he added: “You know the feeling when you're not allowed to laugh at a funeral? Well, it's that: the Game Show. And I commend U&Dave for boldly commissioning a show that will cost them a quarter million a week - if the audience is better at playing the game than we are."
It seems Dermot is booked and busy throughout 2024 and 2025, having also recently announced a new Irish food and travel show for ITV.
In Dermot’s Taste of Ireland, the much-loved television presenter will be travelling to the Emerald Isle in order to explore his mother and fatherland through food as well as friendship.
The five part series will see Dermot take a special gastronomic tour around Ireland to discover all the nation’s “best kept delicious secrets”, a synopsis revealed.
“From traditional Irish stew to soda bread, fresh seafood, and boxty potato pancakes - Dermot will taste his way across the island, meeting the chefs and locals that champion and celebrate Ireland’s gastronomic heritage,” it continues.
Dermot is already well versed in the gastronomic world, having opened two fish-themed restaurants of his own. The star’s tastes are also well known to This Morning viewers, as he sometimes shares his favourite recipes with viewers of the daytime show.
Celebrating the upcoming show, which will air on ITV1 and ITVX in the future, Dermot shared: “I can't wait to embark on this trip, to explore two of my great loves, Ireland and food. The food scene in Ireland is so exciting and to meet the people and try the produce will be a real treat.
“It's exciting to see modern Ireland through second generation eyes,” he continued, adding: “And [it’s exciting] to show that Ireland's food is more than cabbage and stews... although all their cabbage and stews are also great!”
Silence is Golden will air on U&Dave and stream on U next year,
