Cillian Murphy is set to star in a new Netflix film, called Steve.

A first look has been shared from the set, giving a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of what's to come.

Not only is Peaky Blinders and Oppenheimer actor Murphy starring in the new movie, he is also producing it.

The new film is an adaptation of Max Porter's chart-topping book called Shy.

It focuses on a headteacher, the titular Steve, and his students who attend a last-chance reform college.

The plot revolves around one key day at the college, as they all fight to stop it from being closed down.

Steve is battling with his mental health, and the film will shine a light on this alongside the troubled teenage student Shy, played by Jay Lycurgo.

Shy is caught up between his past and future, having left behind a trail of devastation of violence and self-destruction.

The film is set to wrap production on Friday (5th).

Steve is the first movie made by Murphy's production company Big Things Films.

He founded it with long-time collaborator Alan Moloney, and Tim Mielants will direct.

Author Max Porter is adapting his own book for the movie.

"It was Max's idea to change the perspective and flip it around to the headteacher who runs this institution," Murphy told Deadline earlier this year.

"Myself and Alan and Max got on a call and we started to turn it around in our heads and it seemed like we could make a film out of it. The same events happen, we're just looking at them through a different lens."

It's a busy time for Murphy, as he is starring in a new Peaky Blinders film too.
