Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas will reportedly star in a new Netflix series alongside some other major household names.
Following her recent health scare, Shirley is set to take part in Bear Hunt, currently hosted by Dancing on Ice presenter Holly Willoughby.
The high-pressure series stars survivalist Bear Grylls, and will focus on a band of very brave celebrities trying to and survive in the jungle while being hunted by Bear.
The stars will be eliminated one-by-one as they try to traverse the Central American jungle to safety, all with the intrepid naturalist hot on their heels.
According to The Mirror, Shirley has been given the all-clear to participate after having breast cancer checks, and will be able to participate in the gruelling challenge.
An insider said: "Shirley is a fabulous choice, and is impressively fit thanks to years of ballroom dancing.
"She will be able to show off her strength and determination and show Strictly viewers a whole other side to her."
Netflix recently confirmed Bear Hunt would be heading to the small screen soon, telling fans in March that Willoughby will host “this action-packed competition show that sees a group of unlikely British celebrities dropped into the Central American jungle as prey for one of the world's most fearsome predators – Bear Grylls!”
Shirley’s rumoured new role comes just a day after the dancer told fans she got the ‘all clear’ after receiving tests for breast cancer.
She took to social media last week to reveal she had been referred for a biopsy after having two mammogram tests.
Writing in an update post on Tuesday, 20th April, Ballas shared: “I am feeling blessed to share that my biopsy results have come back all clear - there is no cancer present.
“Thank you to you all for your well wishes. I’m urging all women to take their mammograms, smear tests or in fact any appointment. We must ALL get our body MOTs,” she stressed.
Opening up about her recent week, Ballas continued: “Sharing the picture to my story last week very much triggered my emotions, but I feel it’s only right for me to share both the highs and lows of life. If I was able to help just one lady, then sharing my picture was worth it.
“I got my recall while on holiday and I immediately cleared my diary to allow for the appointment,” the dancer explained. “I urge all women to do the same. Please do not put your mammogram, smear test or in fact any appointment off. They really can change your life.”
