Bobby Brazier has landed his next drama role alongside stars from Doctor Who, Gavin and Stacey, and his own current TV home, EastEnders.

The much-loved Strictly Come Dancing contestant was today (15th April) revealed to be joining the cast of Paramount+’s upcoming show, Curfew.

Additional cast members announced alongside Brazier on Thursday were the Dectorists’ Lucy Benjamin, Gavin and Stacey’s Larry Lamb, and former EastEnders legend Anita Dobson.

Curfew is a new six-part crime thriller adaptation of author Jayne Cowie’s novel After Dark. The story revolves around a society governed by a Women’s Safety Act which means all men are tracked by ankle tags and confined to their homes by a 7pm curfew.

The show’s synopsis explains: “Every night, a woman’s body is discovered brutally murdered in curfew hours. Veteran Police officer Pamela Green (Sarah Parish) believes a man must be responsible, however, in a world where men are bound by the curfew system, if Pamela proves a man committed this murder she could bring The Women’s Safety Act crashing down.”

Meanwhile: “Powerful forces are determined to make the curfew a success and will do whatever it takes to silence Pamela in her relentless pursuit of the truth.”

Brazier joins the cast to play James, a schoolboy who is vocal about his support for abolishing his world’s 7pm curfew. Curfew’s lead cast was previously revealed in February 2024, and includes Sarah Parish as Pamela, as well as Mitchell Robertson, Doctor Who’s Mandip Gill, and Alexandra Burke in other key roles.

Fellow ensemble cast members announced for the show include Tommy McDonnell (Alice & Jack), Adam Korson (This Is Us), Amy Louise Pemberton (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), Imogen Sandhu (Casualty), James Craven (Coronation Street), Selorm Adonu (Man to Man) and newcomer Raphael D’Alterio. The series is written by Lydia Yeoman and will be directed by Joasia Goldyn.
