Could the longest serving Sugababes member be about to embark on a glorious solo career? talkSPORT's Andy Goldstein was on the case for Virgin Radio.

talkSPORT's Andy Goldstein was back again on Virgin Radio this weekend and was also joined by yet another top tier guest.

Those that have been listening will know that Goldstein's phonebook of contacts has already pulled in the likes of musical titan's like Tom Grennan and Nicole Appleton from All Saints.

And the cavalcade of big names has not stopped, with Goldstein welcoming the magnificent ex-Sugababes member, and in Goldstein opinion 'the best one', Heidi Range.

Unlike last week, the big topic of discussion had moved on from the hunt for the perfect roast potato but to the 'big day' tomorrow for chocolate lovers and children, Easter Sunday.

The former chart topper was in the final stage of preparation before the occasion, having fully embraced her transition from starlet to 'world's best mum' since stepping back from the spotlight for the last few years, since the birth of her first child in 2018.

Before that time though, Heidi still kept herself busy, since leaving the Sugababes in 2011 after a decade, which funnily enough made her the longest serving member.

Heidi made appearances on both Celebrity Masterchef and Dancing on Ice, as well as being completing a 'lifetime goal' of treading the boards in the West End, during a production of War of the Worlds.

She was also on the jury for the United Kingdom in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.

And it would now seem that there is another change to come for as Goldstein described 'nicest person in the world' Heidi, as she is looking to get back into music with her own solo career.

As the friendly chat began, Goldstein broke this revelation by pulling up a recent quote of Heidi's in which she said: "When I go to shows, you kind of want to grab the mic and have a go. There's a part of me that would love to show my kids what Mommy can still do."

Then asked whether this teasing statement was correct and if she had any solid plans for a return, Heidi said: "I've been in a gorgeous mommy bubble since I had the girls and I've been lucky enough to be able to step away from work, and be at home with them. But as the little ones getting older, and I turned forty last year, I think it's like a new phase in my life where I'd like to get back out there again."

Could this mean a chart battle between a fully re-united original line up of the Sugababes and ex-member Heidi soon?

Well, she's not quite sure yet, adding: "I don't know what it will be yet. But I just feel like, I want to do something for me. And I also want to be a role model to them [her kids], you know, and show them what I can do."

Whether her kids actually know what her former career actually was is another question with Heidi humorously noting that: "The the eldest does know because I have the radio on in the car and I'll say, 'Oh, this is mummy's song.' The little one has got no idea. And even if I try and sing she tells me to shut up!"

Heidi concluded the speculation with an inviting opportunity for any producers or songwriters out there, admitting that although she doesn't currently have new material that the door is now open for creating some new music.
