The Gentlemen is currently sitting pretty at the top of the Netflix Top 10, so it’s no surprise fans are clamouring for more from the Guy Ritchie gangster franchise.

The eight-part series lives in the same universe as Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name, and stars Theo James as Eddie Horniman, who ends up having to take over the family estate, only to discover it’s the home to an enormous drugs empire - and the proprietors aren’t going anywhere.

Ray Winstone stars as drug baron Bobby Glass, while Kaya Scodelario plays daughter Susie, who does a very impressive job looking after the business while Bobby is behind bars.

Viewers of the action-comedy spin-off series have been taking to social media in great numbers since its release on 7th March to share their hopes that the show will get more seasons in the future - but what has been said so far? Here’s what we know.

Has series two of The Gentlemen been announced?

Yes it's true! Netflix has just confirmed there WILL be a second series of The Gentlemen.

While Theo and Kaya will return as their respective characters, time will tell if the remaining members of the Horniman family - Mother Lady Sabrina (Joely Richardson) and sister-in-law Tammy (Chanel Crewsswell) - will return, but it’s believed that Daniel Ings, who played Eddie’s brother Freddy, is already on board.

Netflix UK’s content VP revealed: “With its gun-toting chickens and drug-dealing Dukes, The Gentlemen was a huge hit with audiences in 2024. Not really a surprise as Guy Ritchie remains one of the industry’s most iconic creators telling authentically British stories with his signature swagger, grit and wit.

“We are thrilled the series will be returning to Netflix for a second season, and cannot wait to see what happens when the worlds of old money and drug money collide once more.”

What have The Gentlemen cast said about series 2?

Before the news of The Gentlemen series two was formerly announced, cast member Giancarlo Esposito revealed to Digital Spy that 'nothing was ever discussed' about a renewal.

Yet at the The Gentlemen’s elegant Global Premiere in London earlier this month, virginradio.co.uk spoke Max Beesley, who plays boxing promoter Henry Collins, about the future of the show, and he admitted there was “plenty of room” for more.

“I’m sure that all programme makers and producers, if something’s successful will want to carry it on," he shared.

“This world can be explored multiple times. There’s a massive, massive tapestry of colours you could work with on this show. I’d be surprised if it didn’t go for a second season,” he concluded, although he did also add: “But who knows? You never know.”

Lead star Theo James was optimistic about the series' return, teasing fans with the tantalising prospect of Eddie and Susie's descent "into the heart of darkness."

As James mused to Netflix earlier this year: "Eddie and Susie just signed the deal with the devil and they’re about to embark on a diabolical journey."

The Gentlemen is available to watch now on Netflix.
