The BBC have revealed great news for CBeebies Bedtime Stories fans while also launching a new partnership for the brand.

In a statement released on Tuesday, 27th February, the broadcaster revealed parents will soon for the very first time be able to access a digital library of hundreds of everyone’s favourite episodes via BBC iPlayer.

This back catalogue will make available episodes featuring celebrity readers including: Reese Witherspoon, Harry Styles, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Dolly Parton, Ryan Reynolds, Ed Sheeran and Tom Hardy - the latter of whose CBeebies Bedtime Stories episodes alone has been requested over one million times on BBC iPlayer.

The BAFTA-nominated show also revealed a new partnership with children’s reading charity BookTrust which aims to “deliver unique reading corners in libraries across the UK” to encourage young readers.

Launching the event at Blackpool’s Central Library was Strictly star Carlos Gu - who last year was paired to dance with Virgin Radio’s very own Angela Scanlon.

Gu performed a live reading for lucky event attendees alongside the launch party’s hosts, CBeebies stars Ben Cajee and Dodge the Dog. Carlos was also joined by the CBeebies characters Bluey and Supertato, as well as the poet Mike Garry and illustrator Ruth Hearson.

The Bedtime Stories and BookTrust collaborative project draws on the charity’s work with Arts Council England, with plans to open future CBeebies Bedtime Stories reading corners at libraries in Leeds, Hartlepool, Sandwell, Leicester, Brent and Somerset. The BBC have also confirmed to that "there certainly are plans" to roll out the project outside of England soon too.

Celebrating both announcements in a statement released on the BBC Press website, Patricia Hidalgo, director of Children and Education at the BBC said: “CBeebies Bedtime Stories epitomises BBC Children’s & Education public service remit, to educate and entertain our youngest audiences by creating lasting memories, igniting children’s imaginations, and encouraging families reading together.”

She continued: “The partnership with BookTrust will bring all the magic of CBeebies Bedtime Stories programme to libraries across the UK and with every episode now available on iPlayer for the first time ever everyone can find their favourite stories as well as discover brand new ones.”

The CBeebies Bedtime Stories digital archive will be made available on BBC iPlayer on World Book Day: Thursday, 7th March.
