Bosses behind The Traitors are reportedly eyeing up a particular Friends star to join the first-ever celebrity version of the popular BBC reality series.

According to new reports, Monica Geller actress Courteney Cox is part of the line-up for the rumoured star-studded spin-off

Sources told The Sun that getting Courteney, who is also a friend of host Claudia Winkleman, on board would be “a real coup” and they’re hoping her close relationship with Claudia will prove helpful when signing her up.

The insider said: “The fact the producers have a star from Friends in their sights shows the kind of calibre of famous faces Celebrity Traitors is aiming for.”

“After the show was announced, producers were swamped with calls from big names and their agents wanting to throw their hat in the ring — many of them a big surprise.”

The source added: “Courteney has always been a fan of the show, particularly as the British version has her mate Claudia fronting it.”

It’s not the first time the Hollywood actress has been a part of the Traitors chatter. Last year she donned the infamous Traitors cloak for a fun video alongside pal Claudia to entice participants for series two.

Earlier this year, The Sun also dished on the potential celebrity Traitors series, with bosses hoping to sign up “big names as the show is getting big viewing figures.”

According to another insider, the BBC have been keen to establish a popular “civilian” version of the show to make sure it was a bona fide hit before thinking of a star-studded spin-off.

They added: “The fact that the first two series have proved such a success has convinced them that now is the right time."If the celebrity Traitors series comes to fruition, fans might have to wait a while as it wouldn’t likely air until 2025.

Traitors fans in the US have already been treated to a star version of the beloved format, with the likes of House of Commons speaker John Bercow, Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks.

Earlier this year, The Traitors’ Claudia  even revealed which celebs she’d love to see taking on the intense roundtable.

The TV presenter said (via Radio Times) "Victoria Coren Mitchell, so I can cuddle her. I know her, that sounds weird.” She added: “Adam Woodyatt, always. Andrew Garfield and I'll have Stephen Fry as well."
