Ant and Dec confirm Saturday Night Takeaway is 'back very soon'

Ant and Dec have teased us that their hit show Saturday Night Takeaway will be returning to our screens in the not-too-distant future. 

During the final episode of the latest series of their ITV show Limitless Win, the duo confirmed: “We’ll see you very soon for the return of Saturday Night Takeaway!”

Typically, the show airs from February to April. So we may be seeing it back by the end of the month!

It will be the 20th series of Saturday Night Takeaway, and the pair have also confirmed it will be their last for a while. 

Speaking to virginradio.co.uk and other press at the NTAs in September, Dec said: “It's our last series next year. It will be series 20, so we thought that was a good opportunity to kind of give the show a bit of a rest, for us to take a bit of a rest, because it takes up such a lot of our time. 

“So yeah, we're going out on a high. We've got to make it bigger and better than ever before. We've thrown everything at it. So we've only got seven shows in the series, and we're just going to treat them like seven special weeks. And yeah, go out on a high. I hope everybody enjoys it and comes along for the ride.”

Describing the next series as “fun and frantic”, Dec added: “There'll be new stuff. We're going to bring back some old stuff, some old favourites from the last 20 years.” 

Even though Saturday Night Takeaway will be pausing after the 20th series, that doesn’t mean the legendary duo are taking a break from everything.

They are still expected to continue with their other hit shows like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent and Limitless Win in the meantime.
