Big Brother’s first ever winner Craig Phillips has revealed which of 2023’s contestants he feels are this year’s ones to watch.

The Big Brother 2000 victor was positive about several of the sixteen brand new contestants when he spoke exclusively to earlier this week.

Explaining he hadn’t “really got any least favourites at the moment,” the celebrity builder then began listing the few “that have jumped out” at him as potential winners.

NHS manager Kerry was the first name the 51-year-old mentioned. “I thought she was supportive with some of the other housemates in there when they were having a low moment, I thought she was good in there,” Craig revealed.

“I like Dylan,” he continued. “I thought he brought a nice bit of energy in there, and he’s the type of guy I’d sit down and have a beer with, you know,” he explained.

Paul also got a mention. “Of course I’ve gotta get behind him!” joked the fellow proud Liverpudlian.

Zak was also one to watch in Craig’s eyes. “What I noticed on him on the first and second day is that he was interacting well with the other housemates, you know.

“He was listening to them,” the former contestant added. “He was having a nice conversation and asking them who they were and what they were about. And I think characters like that in that environment are going to do well.”

No doubt Craig will be tuning in with curiosity to see how the rest of the weeks play out just like the rest of us.

Following his successful appearance on the first series of Big Brother, Craig returned to his previous trade as a builder, taking part in and presenting numerous building-focused TV shows such as ITV’s 60 Minute Makeover.

Recently, the star has teamed up with HomeServe to get people checking that their household heating systems and other similarly important appliances are in full working order to avoid any ‘big bothers’ later this winter.

To promote the campaign, Craig has starred in several Big Brother style videos showing the ways in which people can check and maintain their household in safe and inexpensive ways.

“What it's doing is it's just identifying what the problems are and what people can do about it without having to call the professionals in, and without having to spend very much money on them,” the former Big Brother contestant explained.

Big Brother continues on ITV2 and ITVX every weeknight (apart from Saturdays) from 9pm.
