Pedro Pascal from The Mandalorian and The Last of Us is reportedly set to team up with Thor star Chris Hemsworth for a new movie.
The heist film is called Crime 101 and is based on Don Winslow novella of the same name, which focuses on a string of high-level jewel heists up and down the Pacific Coast Highway that have gone unsolved for years, due to the perpetrator living by a strict code he calls “Crime 101”. Whilst police attribute the thefts to the Colombian cartels, detective Lou Lubesnick reckons it's the work of just one man.
Deadline reports that Pascal and Hemsworth are “attached to star” and that Bart Layton - who helmed the excellent American Animals - is also “attached to direct the film”. It is also reported that Amazon and Netflix are “battling ferociously” for the movie.
At this stage, it isn't known which roles either actor will play, or when we can expect to see the movie.
As well as this new project, Pascal is also set to appear in the much-anticipated Gladiator sequel, joining the likes of Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington and Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn, with Ridley Scott back in the director’s chair, 23 years after the acclaimed original.
He will also be back for season two of the massively-acclaimed post-apocalypse drama The Last of Us, alongside Bella Ramsey, as the video game adaptation moves into the events of the second game. The HBO/Sky Atlantic show is expected to last for anything between three and five seasons, according to its creators.
Meanwhile, at the end of last year, Chris Hemsworth paused his acting career after discovering that he has a genetic predisposition to develop Alzheimer’s disease. He learned the news while filming the fifth episode of his Disney+ series, Limitless.
However, the Aussie actor - who recently starred in the Extraction sequel - will be appearing in the Mad Max prequel, Furiosa, and will also voice Optimus Prime in Transformers One. And we look forward to seeing him alongside Pedro Pascal!
