The second season of Good Omens in on the horizon and fans have been treated to a first look at the new title sequence, and there are lots of Easter eggs and clues of what is to come.
In the first season, the title sequence contained a lot of nods and hints from the book and series and fans will no doubt be expecting that for season two.
When asked if there would be any Easter eggs in the opening for season two, creator Neil Gaiman confirmed: "More Easter Eggs than in a fancy Easter Egg shop the week before Easter."
You can watch it below:
It’s fair to say fans were more than excited with the new revealed and took to social media to share their thoughts, with one person writing on Twitter: “OMG it’s beautiful”.
Another said: “I said it about season 1’s opening and I’ll say it again - I would watch a feature length documentary about the making of the title sequences. They are ASTONISHING.”
While a third added: “Thank you now, we're gonna analyse it to death🤍🖤”.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that filming on season two had wrapped and a release date had been announced.
A post on the official Good Omens Twitter page confirmed the news and said: “On the 10th of May, we were given a date for season 2, and it is ineffably good. Good Omens returns July 28th on Prime Video."
If that wasn’t enough, we were also treated with a brand new first-look at Tennant’s Crowley and Sheen’s Aziraphale in the new season. In the poster, the pair are sitting together in what appears to be Aziraphale’s bookshop.
Season one of Good Omens was, of course, based on the novel of the same name, co-authored by Gaiman and Sir Terry Pratchett. However, a sequel was never officially written, so there is no predicting what could happen in season two.
Maybe this new title sequence will give us some clues!
Good Omens season 2 arrives on Prime Video on 28th July 2023.
