Slow Horses writer Will Smith has given us some hints about what to expect in season 3 of the hit Apple TV+ series.

The espionage thriller returned for its second instalment in December last year, which saw Jackson Lamb and the Slough House gang on the hunt for Russian sleeper agents to save London from a terrorist attack.

It was also confirmed last year Slow Horses would be back for a third and fourth season but details about what the Slough House team would be getting up to have been kept quiet.

Speaking exclusively to on the red carpet for the RTS Awards last night (28th March), writer for the series Will Smith did manage to give some hints.

Who else did we speak to at the RTS Awards?

He said: “I'm not sure what I'm allowed to say about that but I could say that somebody very close to the Slow Horses is putting them in a great deal of danger. But I'm really looking forward to people seeing a really exciting series, some great new characters and some old favourites.

“It's just important to me that, you know, we keep the quality up and keep people engaged and hope people feel we do the books justice, and it seems that we are.”

Speaking about whether he felt pressure to make sure the series keeps living up to standards, the writer added: “I wear a lot of hats. You know, it's like, it'll be kind of on the same day, I can be kind of in the writers room for one series, while I'm in the edit for the other and then going down to set for another. So there's always at least three things going on at once.”

Smith was up for best writer for a drama series at the RTS Awards with Slow Horses but ended up missing out to Lucy Prebble, who penned I Hate Suzie Too. You can see a full list of winners here.
