We finally have the name of the highly anticipated The Boys follow-on series.

The college spin-off show will be called Gen V, and the announcement came with an exciting video featuring the young cast.

In the clip, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Chance Perdomo, London Thor, Asa Germann, Maddie Phillips and Derek Luh teased what fans can expect.

On what The Boys viewers can expect, Asa shared: “It’s got everything The Boys has. The intensity, the grit, the humour,” while Lizzie added: “It’s going to be a roller coaster, it’s going to be filled with blood, guts, and everything else.

Jaz teased: There’s love, beautiful relationships, tonnes of action and superheroes,” while Patrick upped the ante, saying: “This will rock your socks off!”

“Superheroes, college, what could go wrong?” London hinted during the clip’s finishing moments.

To go alogngside the update, the official Prime Video synopsis reads: "Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities.”

The original Boys series, which is based on the comic book series of the same name, is set in a universe where individuals with superpowers known as Supes are seen as heroes and celebs by the public, and are monetised by a big corporation called Vought International. Behind the curtain of their heroic personas, however, most of the popular Supes are arrogant and corrupt.

Vigilante group - The Boys - embark on a quest to expose the truth about Vought’s group - led by The Homelander and called “The Seven” - and attempt to take them down.

The Boys returned with series three in June, with Homelander (Antony Starr) subdued, and Butcher (Karl Urban) working for the government, supervised by Hughie (Jack Quaid) of all people. When The Boys learn of a mysterious anti-Supe weapon, it sends them crashing into the Seven, starting a war, and chasing the legend of the first superhero: Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles).”

There’s lots more of The Boys to look forward to, as the show was just renewed for a fourth series too.
